Chad Gable’s friendship with Chad Gable…sorry, El Grande Americano, has been a hilarious part of WWE programming lately. The two superstars look strikingly similar, but have been on widely different trajectories since crossing paths.
El Grande Americano recently won the Speed Championship on Speed. He defeated Dragon Lee to become the new champion. As such, Gable took to X and congratulated his peer.

After winning the Speed Championship, Americano took to X to post a tweet in Spanish.

“I want to publicly thank the WWE Universe for the support they have given me on my journey to earn my FIRST WWE singles title!” the ‘luchador’ said. “Even though I’ve been doing this for 40 years or more, I’ve been made to feel like this is all new to me. Let’s celebrate!!
The leader of American Made quote-tweeted the aforementioned tweet with a congratulatory message. “Congrats, amigo!!!! You earned it!!! @WWE,” he said.
This interaction is hilarious. Gable hyping his championship up is almost similar to the Elias-Ezekiel dialogues of old.
Chad Gable Takes A Dig At El Grande Americano
The former American Alpha member may be full of love for El Grande Americano right now, but during WrestleMania season, it wasn’t exactly this way. Americano made it on the WrestleMania 41 card as Gable was snubbed, with the former locking horns with Rey Mysterio. However, a last-minute injury to Mysterio saw him replaced by Rey Fenix, who was ultimately defeated.
Gable wasn’t too happy to be left out of the WrestleMania card, especially for a newcomer in Americano. He recently vented his frustration in an interview with Ropebreaks over the Lucha Libre legend getting the ‘Mania spotlight.
“I got robbed again, man. This year, by this new guy, just comes out of nowhere. Two matches and he’s on WrestleMania. Can you imagine how I feel? 12 years in, 13 years in. I wish him the best of luck, I like that guy,” Gable said.
We hope Gable and Americano remain good friends and never rub each other the wrong way. Otherwise, we may have to see a match between them, and that would certainly be….strange.
One also wonders who Americano is behind that mask. WWE usually unmasks all their masked superstars at some point, so we expect them to do the same with him. Hopefully, the reveal is done well and is not something ludicrous, like Gable himself behind the mask. Right?
