After missing the playoffs in both of the last two seasons, the Cincinnati Bengals’ immediate future is in doubt.
Their two main wide receiver threats — Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins — are both due for contract extensions, and Higgins is set to officially become a free agent when the NFL’s new league year begins in March.
Since it will be very difficult for Cincinnati to afford both players, there have been many rumors about which team Higgins could end up being headed to this offseason.
On his Instagram account, he posted the words “Priorities are rare, options are everywhere,” which makes it seem as if he implied that he will be on the move.

There is speculation that Higgins wants to be a team’s main featured wide receiver instead of playing second-fiddle to Chase, which would mean he would have to join another team.
However, he seemed to keep the door open to remaining with Cincinnati, the only team he has played for in five NFL seasons.
“I love it here, I love the city, I love the fans, I love the coaching staff, everything in the building. But, it’s not in my control.”

We know what Joe Burrow wants.

While it is debatable whether Higgins is capable of being the WR1 for a good or great team, he did catch 73 passes and post 911 yards and 10 touchdowns this season despite appearing in only 12 games.
He just turned 26 years of age and should have several productive years left in him, barring a major injury.
One team that has been linked to Higgins is the New England Patriots, who have a new head coach in Mike Vrabel and a potential franchise quarterback in Drake Maye, who just completed a promising rookie campaign.
