Robert Kraft pushed by surprising source for Patriots to get Lamar Jackson

Patriots owner Robert Kraft is hearing it from all angles on bringing Lamar Jackson to New England, including one very unexpected source.

With the Patriots apparently not sold on Mac Jones at quarterback, it’s no surprise they’re a team often linked to Lamar Jackson, the Ravens quarterback who has requested a trade out of Baltimore.

If Meek Mill is to be believed, Jackson wants to come to New England. At least, that’s what Pats owner Robert Kraft told reporters at league meetings on Monday.

Kraft claims the rapper texted him last week to let him know that Jackson was interested in the Patriots.

“Kraft responded that would be Bill Belichick’s decision,” Albert Breer of The MMQB tweeted.

Meek Mill reached out to Patriots owner Robert Kraft about Lamar Jackson

Okay, first things first, let’s address the obvious: Meek Mill has Robert Kraft’s cell number?

Apparently, Mill and Kraft are pretty close. They’ve worked together on the social justice front, founding the REFORM Alliance along with other philanthropists and activists pushing for criminal justice reform.

Now that unconventional friendship could help spark a landscape-shifting quarterback move.

Of course, the Belichick of it all has to be factored in. The head coach was asked about Jackson and gave an expectedly curt answer.

The Lamar Jackson saga has taken many twists and turns, the most surprising of all was last week’s drama involving the league, the NFLPA and a Floridian gym equipment salesman named Ken Francis.

The NFL sent a memo to teams warning them about negotiating with Francis, who might be contacting teams on Jackson’s behalf without being an NFLPA-approved agent. Both Jackson and Francis denied him reaching out to teams, but the NFL and NFLPA got the idea from somewhere.

Now Mill was allegedly reaching out to a team owner to let him know the quarterback was interested in joining his team?

Who knows which way this story will blow next. The only think we can say with certainty is to expect the unexpected.
