Packers need to watch out for 4 teams in OBJ sweepstakes

The Green Bay Packers are interested in free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., but they need to be afraid of these four teams.

The Green Bay Packers‘ biggest weakness entering the 2022 season was their wide receiver corps. To the surprise of no one, that portion of the offense has struggled mightily through the first six games of the season, notably during Green Bay’s two-game losing streak against the New York Giants and Jets.

With the Packers 3-3 on the year, there are by no means out of playoff contention. They could still sign a wide receiver to help out quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and there happens to be one name that stands out above the rest — Odell Beckham Jr.

FanSided National NFL reporter Matt Verderame reported that his understanding is that there are “a litany of teams worth watching” in the Beckham sweepstakes, including the Packers. The thing is, teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and Baltimore Ravens are interested as well.

Packers have four teams to look out for in the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes

In regards to the Chiefs, Verderame reported that the team is “monitoring the situation with Odell Beckham but nothing is imminent.” Additionally, Verderame says that the expectation is that the free agent wide receiver won’t sign until after the Nov. 1 trade deadline.

Beckham took to Twitter recently to voice his displeasure with a contract offer that he received from the Rams, which he said the offer was not reflective of his worth.

Rams head coach Sean McVay responded by saying that he did not “think that’s the last [offer] that would come from” the team.

The Bills have the quarterback in Josh Allen and a pretty stout receiving corps of Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, and Isaiah McKenzie. Linebacker Von Miller, who teamed up with Beckham with the Rams last season, has been pushing for the wide receiver to come to Buffalo. In fact, he told Jarrett Bell of USA Today on Sunday that “he’s coming here.”

As for the Ravens, they could stand to add a wide receiver to help out quarterback Lamar Jackson in the passing game.

Beckham is coming back from a torn ACL he suffered in Super Bowl 56. Once he is deemed good to go, there are going to be plenty of teams looking to sign him. He is, after all, the top wide receiver in free agency.

If the Packers want to sign Beckham to give some help to Rodgers, they will have some competition.
