It’s a move that could be a win-win for both franchises. The Suns, in return, would get two proven young starters in Vassell and Johnson, along with Wesley, a one-time first-round pick who still has room to grow. On top of that, multiple future draft picks would give Phoenix much-needed flexibility to rebuild its roster.
For the Spurs, adding Durant to their lineup would significantly strengthen their roster. He would form a new power trio alongside Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, giving the Spurs a stellar combination of experience and rising talent.

Durant is under contract through the 2025-26 season and is eligible for an extension. He can sign a two-year deal worth approximately $120 million, keeping him under contract through 2027-28.
