MNF protester claims concussion, burns from Bobby Wagner tackle

According to a police report, obtained by FanSided, the man who Bobby Wagner tackled on the sidelines during the Los Angeles Rams Monday Night Football game is claiming several injuries from the incident.

Alexander Joseph Taylor claims that he is suffering from a “headache, a concussion without loss of consciousness, and a burn on his inner right bicep” which stems from the tackle on Oct. 3 in Santa Clara.

Wagner was caught on video tackling Taylor who had run onto the field with a pink smoke bomb as some sort of protest. Several security officers were unable to catch Taylor who was eventually stopped with several players ran towards him.

After the tackle, Wagner was praised for his heroics by fans and even fellow players.

“I was scared for my life, he could have had a bomb,” Greg Gaines said, replying to a since-deleted tweet from an account labeled NFL Rumors. “Bobby Wagner saved our lives.”

A representative of Taylor’s group, Direct Action Everywhere, deemed the encounter with the football players a “blatant assault,” TMZ reported.

Wagner addressed the media following the revelation that the man had filed a police report.

“I heard about it, but it is what it is,” Wagner said (h/t NBC News). “It’s behind me. I ain’t really focused on it. I’m more concerned about the security guard that was hurt trying to chase him. We don’t know what that (pink smoke) is. You’ve just got to do what you’ve got to do.”

According to the Santa Clara Police department, “This is an ongoing investigation and no further information can be released.”
