How Many Draft Picks Do the Cowboys Have in 2023?

The Cowboys have eight total selections in the 2023 NFL Draft.

All of the picks that the Cowboys still hold are their original selections in the 2023 NFL Draft. One pick that’s missing is Dallas’ sixth-round pick. The Cowboys traded that pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for interior defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins in October.

They also traded their fifth-round pick (161) and their 2024 sixth-round pick for WR Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans.

After earning an NFC Wild Card spot, the Cowboys will be picking in the bottom half of Round 1, barring a trade-up.

Round 1 has been a fruitful range for the Cowboys in recent years. In the 2020 NFL Draft, Dallas was able to snag wide receiver CeeDee Lamb at 17th overall. And in the 2021 NFL Draft, they claimed Micah Parsons at pick No. 12. Both have already earned Pro Bowl nods, and Parsons has grown to become one of the best, most dynamic defenders in the league.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Cowboys carried on with their success, picking Tulsa offensive lineman Tyler Smith at 24th overall. Scouts regarded Smith as a relatively raw but undeniably talented prospect. Early in his Cowboys career, his elite power has been an asset at both guard and tackle.
