Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has suffered a dislocated knee. It’s now being reported that Hill underwent surgery after tearing multiple ligaments, including his ACL.
Hill will now start focusing on his rehab in an effort to be ready to play again by the start of next season.
What Did a Former NFL Cornerback Have to Say About Tyreek Hill’s Injury?
Hill’s injury occurred during the Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets. He was tackled on the sideline, with a defender landing on his leg, and the broadcast then showed his lower leg at an awkward angle.
Adiq Talib, who played in the NFL for 11 seasons, said he saw Hill’s injury coming on a matter of fate.
“I always say it, these football Gods don’t play no games, they do not play games, they do not make mistakes. You got allegations of beating your wife, that [redacted] is real,” Talib said on a podcast. “Them football Gods are brutal, they don’t make [any] mistakes. It’s karma. You’ve seen that tackle a thousand times and he snapped his whole leg in half … You make your money on speed; that might be the last we see of Tyreek Hill.”

Talib announced his retirement in 2020, following his final year in the league with the Los Angeles Chargers. The cornerback finished his career with 461 total tackles, 35 interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 10 touchdowns.
Hill’s divorce from his ex-wife, Keeta Vaccaro, occurred after only 17 months of marriage. Vaccaro alleged there were several instances of domestic violence (including some while she was pregnant) in court documents.
After Hill’s injury, the Dolphins were still able to capture their first win of the season (now 1-3) in an eventual 27-21 victory over the Jets.
Hill has caught for 11,363 yards and 83 touchdowns in his career so far. Before his knee injury, the West Alabama alum had 21 receptions off 29 targets in the 2025 season.
The athletic training staff reportedly had to cut off Hill’s cleat and then stabilize his leg. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation, observation, and an overnight hospitalization.
Miami currently ranks 15th in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric and has an overall score of 77.1.
The Dolphins now turn their attention to facing off against the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 5, and will likely see various adjustments made at the wide receiver position with Hill now out for the year.
