Christian McCaffrey has been back at practice for the San Francisco 49ers, and this development has brought them quite a bit of hope and optimism despite their 4-4 record.

The All-Pro running back hasn’t played yet this season because of Achilles tendonitis, but he has reportedly been pain-free and seems to be on track to making his season debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Star linebacker Fred Warner is among the many 49ers very glad to have McCaffrey back on the field.

“Man it was good to see him out there,” Warner said, via G.O.A.T Farm Sports.

McCaffrey is such a huge weapon for the Niners that his mere presence will make things easier on his teammates by virtue of drawing lots of defensive attention.

He isn’t just an outstanding rusher who led the NFL in rushing yards last season, he’s a true dual-threat RB who is excellent in the passing game as he can line up outside as a receiver when needed.

He caught 67 passes for 564 yards and seven touchdowns and led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage and total touchdowns in 2023, which earned him the Offensive Player of the Year award.

San Francisco has been ravaged by injuries since training camp, but McCaffrey isn’t the only player who seems to be nearing a return.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings and kicker Jake Moody also came back to practice after missing multiple games, and defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and offensive lineman Jon Feliciano had their practice windows opened.

There is also hope that linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who tore his Achilles during last season’s Super Bowl, could be a just few weeks away from coming back.
