The number of contenders for Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Intercontinental Championship is increasing day by day. Mysterio won the title by pinning Finn Balor in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 41. Since then, he has declared himself the greatest Intercontinental Champion ever.
Balor seeks redemption, as he wasn’t happy that his fellow Judgment Day member pinned him during the match. Another competitor is rising amidst this chaos, making his intentions very clear.
Ludwig Kaiser Joins the Intercontinental Championship Race with Finn Balor
During an interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, Ludwig Kaiser displayed clear intent to pursue the Intercontinental Championship. While explaining his wrestling journey, Kaiser sent a message to the wrestling world: “Watch me.”

Kaiser was addressing how people always doubted him, questioning whether he would be able to make a name for himself in WWE. He gave an answer to everyone doubting him by showing his in-ring prowess.
“Let’s go party. What are you doing like all oiled up in speedos jumping around in front of 30 people? What are you doing? It’s not gonna work out.” I said, “watch me,” and then it worked out. It was like within Europe and people would say “You’re never gonna get to the states,” then I got to States. And then they said “It’s NXT though, it’s not WWE. You’re never gonna get to the main roster,” and then I did. And now people say “Oh, he’s never gonna win the Intercontinental Title,” and all I say is “WATCH ME.”
This process of Kaiser overcoming the doubts of others and proving them wrong shows his confidence and readiness to step into the spotlight. His journey in wrestling has been marked by perseverance, facing doubts at every stage, and consistently proving his critics wrong.
Now, with his eyes set on the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Kaiser has made it very clear that he is ready to challenge Mysterio and anyone who stands in his way.
Dominik Mysterio’s Reign Might be in Danger
Mysterio’s reign as a champion has been controversial since the beginning. He engaged in a heated verbal battle with the Steiner brothers backstage at WrestleMania while flexing his title. Most recently, Mysterio defended his title against Penta at WWE Backlash 2025, thanks to the interference from El Grande Americano. Such incidents lead to questioning the legitimacy of his victories.
After his loss at Backlash, Penta issued a strong message to the WWE Universe, stating, “No matter what it takes, one day I’ll be a champion! I swear.” This reveals a burning desire to win a singles championship after his success in the tag team division. Known for his catchphrase, ‘Cero Miedo’, Penta could reach any limits to win the gold.
Now with the inclusion of Ludwig Kaiser to the list, the race for the Intercontinental Championship is heating up. With many significant names competing for the gold, it would make for an interesting battle between these superstars. The upcoming clashes will reveal how great of a champion Mysterio truly is if he defends his title and walks out still as a champion once the dust settles.
