Drake London’s Dynasty Outlook and Value
What a strange rookie year it was for the Falcons’ first-rounder. After spending back-to-back premium first-round picks on two phenomenal pass catchers, Atlanta dedicated the 2022 season to throwing as little as possible.
From an efficiency standpoint, London’s usage was incredible for a rookie. His 29.4% target share was the fifth highest in the league, and his 32.4% targets-per-route-run rate was second.
London averaged 2.4 yards per route run, 11th in the NFL. Unfortunately, he averaged just 10.5 ppg and was completely unstartable in fantasy leagues for the majority of the season. The problem, of course, was volume.

No team ran the ball more than the Falcons. They were committed to the run regardless of the game script or situation. London ran just 21.2 routes per game. He was the team’s clear WR1 from the moment he stepped foot on an NFL field, but that role just had minimal value in Atlanta’s offense in 2022.
London’s situation presents an interesting dilemma for dynasty managers. He was an elite prospect with elite draft capital who saw elite usage in his first NFL season. I’ve seen enough to believe London can be one of the 12 best wide receivers in the NFL within a year or two. But will the Falcons throw the ball more?
That’s not really a question we can answer. And for dynasty managers, I’m not really sure it matters.
Drake London’s Fantasy Ranking
London will be 22 years old this season. The goal in dynasty leagues is to acquire elite, young talent. When you’ve done that, you don’t easily give it up.
Fantasy managers should bank on the Falcons not running a backward offense for the entirety of London’s career. Even if this is another middling season, London has a decade of high-end performance ahead of him. His quarterback should improve. His offensive situation should improve. And he should improve.
I consider London a mid-WR2 in dynasty and one who could quickly ascend to the ranks of the WR1s. Currently, he’s ranked as our WR16, No. 50 overall in our dynasty Superflex rankings. He should be viewed as one of the most coveted wide receivers in dynasty. He is definitely a guy I’d be targeting in dynasty startup drafts.
