The longstanding tradition of the NFL champion visiting the White House is no longer.
In both terms of the Donald Trump administration, several professional teams have opted not to attend the White House to celebrate their championships.
According to a report by The Sun (via Eagles Nation), the Philadelphia Eagles have taken that same stance this time around.

Notably, that may not have anything to do with Trump’s support of the Kansas City Chiefs in recent years.
Countless professional athletes have criticized Trump’s policies and speeches, so this isn’t much of a surprise.
The President, being the outspoken figure he is, will most likely address this decision in due time.
GM Howie Roseman has done an impressive job of fielding a competitive and young team, and their Super Bowl window will remain wide open for years to come.
Their defense is young and mostly built through the NFL Draft, and most of their core offensive players are under contract for years.
Needless to say, getting to the mountaintop is difficult, and staying there is even harder.
Nevertheless, given the political climate and how divided the nation has been over the past couple of years, it’s easy to understand why some players wouldn’t want to do anything that might feel like they’re taking a political stance.
Of course, this will be long debated, and some will like it and others won’t, but that’s just how politics work.
