Bill Cowher has been around the NFL since 1979.
He played in the league from 1979-1984, suiting up for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns.
Cowher didn’t have a long career as a player, but he came back as a coach the year after he retired, honing his skills on the Browns staff.
He was later given the reins to the Kansas City Chiefs defense and was the coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1992-2006.
Cowher faced off against many star quarterbacks throughout his playing and coaching career but recently admitted what player was hardest to go against.
He appeared on the “Dan Patrick Show,” with the host asking him which quarterback gave him the most nightmares.
“To be honest with you, it was Peyton Manning. Because we had to work all week, making sure that we did not show him the defense. So, disguise was everything, because if he saw the defense, we used to do the 10-second rule. We figured, at 10 seconds, he didn’t have time to change the play,” Cowher said.

Manning was a major disruptor to nearly every team in the league and is known as one of the best quarterbacks in league history.
As Cowher mentioned, Manning is lauded for his football mind, having the ability to pick defenses apart with ease.
He was a force to be reckoned with, which is why coaches like Cowher had to be creative against him, otherwise, Manning would pick apart defenses with surgical precision.
