The NFL world seemed to stop when it was announced that Bill Belichick was leaving the New England Patriots.
Granted, the team hadn’t been playing particularly well after Tom Brady left, but it was still a shock to see the legendary coach leave the organization.
In the months to follow his departure from New England, rumors flew about what Belichick’s next job would be, and if a team would take a chance on him.
Despite several interviews, Belichick wasn’t selected as the final candidate for any teams, and he was forced to start a career in broadcasting and sports media.
Belichick has received some acclaim for his recent work, but he made it abundantly clear that coaching is in his DNA, and he would stop at nothing to get a new job.
He recently accepted the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina, a position many view as a downgrade.
As Rob Parker of “Fox Sports Radio” recently put it, “To me, this is a clear sign of Bill Belichick picking nepotism over a chance at NFL history,”
Parker accuses Belichick of nepotism because of the reported language in the contract to make his son, Steve Belichick, the head coach in waiting at UNC.

Belichick isn’t far away from Don Shula’s all-time wins record for a coach, but at the moment, he doesn’t seem to care about that.
His focus will now turn to a group of young men hoping to make a name for themselves at the NCAA level, and potentially the NFL level.
These players have to start somewhere, and thankfully for them, they’ll be coached by one of the best to ever do it.
