The Seattle Seahawks have established themselves as a formidable presence in the NFC, with much of their recent success tied to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba‘s exceptional performance. Smith-Njigba has become the centerpiece of Seattle’s offense and continues to produce at an elite level week after week.
In Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans, Smith-Njigba surpassed 150 receiving yards and achieved a historic accomplishment that underscores his consistency this season. The milestone represents one of the most remarkable statistical achievements of the year across the league.
“Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the first WR in NFL history to have 75+ receiving yards in each of his team’s first 11 games of a season. Special,” NFL Insider Jordan Schultz shared on X.

Smith-Njigba’s 167-yard performance against Tennessee moved him to 1,313 receiving yards through 11 games, surpassing D.K. Metcalf’s 2020 franchise record of 1,303 yards. His trajectory suggests he could challenge historical single-season records as the campaign progresses.
The Titans game marked his eighth outing with at least 100 yards. In his three remaining performances, he fell just 32 yards short of reaching that threshold in each contest.
Smith-Njigba is currently tracking ahead of Calvin Johnson’s single-season passing record and stands positioned to potentially become the first receiver to reach 2,000 yards.
This is Smith-Njigba’s first season without Metcalf, who was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason. With the offensive workload now concentrated on his shoulders, Smith-Njigba has responded with the type of production that vindicated Seattle’s faith in him.
The responsibility has naturally shifted his way, and he has seized the opportunity with measured excellence. His emergence marks a significant transition for Seattle’s passing attack moving forward.
