The Green Bay Packers have been up and down this season.
They dominate some of the best teams in the league, but lose to some of the worst, so fans never know what version they’re going to get week by week.
Perhaps the most infuriating part of watching them is the fact that they continue to commit to the running game, even though it’s not working.
With that in mind, former Packers offensive lineman Michael Wahle urged the team to clean things up.
“Packers have an execution problem. Josh Jacobs is averaging a tick under 67 ypg at 3.8 ypc. Team has an All-Pro running back; fix techniques up front, get your yardage back. Simple isn’t sexy and it isn’t easy, but it’s where the focus needs to be,” Wahle wrote on X.

Granted, some of the Packers’ run-blocking issues have to do with linemen Aaron Banks and Zach Tom missing time with injury earlier in the season, but it hasn’t been much better with them back on the field.
So, they need to change their scheme or execute better, or both.
Jacobs is getting hit behind the line of scrimmage, and even though he can still get some yards, that’s more a testament to his ability than anything else.
On the other hand, if the Packers aren’t getting it done on the ground, head coach Matt LaFleur should trust his quarterback to make plays.
Instead, he has Jordan Love throwing screen passes.
The Packers have the second half of the season to improve before their failings come back to haunt them again when it matters most.
